Notting Hill Neighbourhood House is transforming the pedestrian path between Samada St and Saniky St (19A Samada St, Notting Hill VIC 3168) into a fun, vibrant and eye-catching community art laneway. We have freshly painted the fences and are now in the process of curating a gallery of artwork by local neighbours and friends.
We have been inspired by Carnegie Community Laneways to start this project in our neighbourhood. Notting Hill Neighbourhood House would like to thank Kirsten from Carnegie Community Laneways for sharing her expertise and tips on creating this project in our neighbourhood.
With this project, we hope to:
- Create a special landmark in our neighbourhood
- Engage the local community in a creative way
- Give locals a chance to showcase their talents
- Bring a smile to neighbours walking by
- Design a creative gateway between our two local playgrounds
If you are interested in contributing an artwork, please fill out the form below and we will be in contact for pick-up. We will let you know when you can come to the centre to pick up a board to take home and paint on. When you return it to us with your painting we will coat it with a sealer and hang it on the laneway.
Please read the “Artist Agreement” and “Laneway Overview & Guidelines” docs prior to board collection.
