June 2019
Rob Hunter joined us on a cold Sunday afternoon in June to recount the chilling events of February 1977 – His first week as a primary school teacher.
Through the course of the afternoon, he took us through the events that transpired that week, the courage and wit it took to protect himself, his 9 young students, and five bystanders who were being held by a kidnapper.
It was an absolute delight spending the Sunday afternoon with Rob, hearing his story which made for national news at the time. He also shared what he learned from this traumatic event, and how it has affected his life since. It is very much a story of courage, support and healing, and we are so grateful to hear it.
Thank you to everyone who came in and made the event a success!
