We now have Community Veggie and Herb Garden Beds!
With the help of the VCAL students and teachers at Brentwood Secondary College, we built two new garden beds in the front of our centre. Thank you to Venkata Kalva the Pathways Manager and Sustainability Coordinator at Brentwood Secondary College who helped to organise this initiative.
We also had help from a small community working bee, where we worked together to fill the garden beds with soil and plan a series of veggies and herbs. We now have tomatoes, leek, spring onions and mint growing at NHNH! Thank you to Joanne, Liz, Neil, Lucas, Lina and Yun for giving us a helping hand!
This project is being funded by the Monash Council Community Strengthening Grants Program and supported by Bunnings in Notting Hill and Garden Gear. A special thanks to Monash Atmospheric, Geosciences and Environment Society (MAGES) for donating the gardening gloves, which were recovered from Metro Tunnel.
