The Notting Hill community celebrated Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights on Sun 16 Oct!
Notting Hill Neighbourhood House hosted a community potluck, where neighbours brought in a plate of their favourite Indian food to share with the community. There was a big feast of traditional foods, including chole, veg pulao, samosas, chai and mithais (Indian sweets)!
Arsh Jain presented an informative presentation on ‘Why we celebrate Diwali’, we had a fun lantern-making workshop led by local neighbour Dharmista and the night was wrapped up with a traditional diya lighting ceremony.
Thank you to everyone who attended the night. A special thanks to Aanchal, Harsimranjit, Dharmista, Tripti, Subha, Debolina, Abhishek, Rosy, Pooja, Karthiga, Vinaykumar and Shubhi who brought a plate to share!
Happy Diwali!
