Gardening at Notting Hill Series

At NHNH we support environmental sustainability and in response to the needs of our community are launching a Gardening in Notting Hill Series.

KOKEDAMA STRING PLANT WORKSHOP

Thursday 29th Aug | 7.00  – 8.30 pm

Thank you to everyone who came out for our first ever Kokedamam workshop. It was a such a lovely and meditative evening, by the end of which most of us had more than 2 kokedamas each.

A big thank you to the NHNH coordinator Tracey who conducted the workshop and guided us through the process of making these easy and beautiful creations.

COMPOSTING WORKSHOP

Thursday 1st Aug | 7.00  – 8.30 pm

Many of you had asked for it, and we finally organised it! A big thank you to our wonderful speaker Daniel Berry (Sustainability Project Officer at Monash City Council), who not only kept things interesting and fun, but also brought a compost bin and worm farm to give away!

We had a very full house and a lot of questions that lasted late into the evening which were followed by a quick cuppa and more informal chat.

Composting has never been easier for Monash residents as you can now purchase a discounted compost bin, worm farm or Bokashi bin through a Council rebate.

Thank you to everyone who booked in for the workshop and braved a cold rainy afternoon to learn how to live a more sustainable lifestyle. It is your interest and engagement that make our events worthwhile. So, thank yo and hope to see you at the next one!

If you have some ideas for a workshop you might want (or even would like to conduct one yourself!) do let us know. You can write to us at nhoffice@nottinghillnh.org.au, or just drop by for a chat.

And please, come join us for our next event!
