Notting Hill Community Laneways

By November 7, 2022March 8th, 2023No Comments

Notting Hill Neighbourhood House is planning to transform the pedestrian path between Samada St and Saniky St (19A Samada St, Notting Hill VIC 3168) into a fun, vibrant and eye-catching community art laneway. This will involve painting the fences and curating a gallery of artwork by local neighbours.

We have been inspired by Carnegie Community Laneways to start this project in our neighbourhood.

With this project, we hope to:

  • Create a special landmark in our neighbourhood
  • Engage the local community in a creative way
  • Give locals a chance to showcase their talents
  • Bring a smile to neighbours walking by
  • Design a creative gateway between our two local playgrounds

If you are interested in contributing an artwork, please fill out the form below and we will be in contact for pick-up. We will let you know when you can come to the centre to pick up a board to take home and paint on. When you return it to us with your painting we will coat it with a sealer and hang it on the laneway.

This project is being funded by Monash Council and supported by Bunnings Notting Hill.

Please read the “Artist Agreement” and “Laneway Overview & Guidelines” docs prior to board collection.

For any questions, contact Jenny at coordinator@nottinghillnh.org.au

Interested in getting involved or finding out more?

Can you help us paint our laneway fences?

With help from the local neighbours and Brentwood Secondary College, we have made a start on painting the laneway fences. If you are able to lend a hand please contact us. We can add you to our fence painting WhatsApp group and let you know when we are planning to go out and paint!
